FOJTSTVÍ MUSEUM

Fojtství (Reeve's House) Museum  building is the oldest preserved building in Kopřivnice. The exact date of building erection is not known; the oldest preserved mention dates back to 1576. In 1789 was the wooden building of the hereditary reeve's house rebuilt to a brick building.

The largest building adjustments were performed between 1985-1990 by the TATRA Company. Since 2005, the reeve's house has belonged to the town of Kopřivnice that had – with contribution of the Development of Regional Museum in Kopřivnice fund – the existing exhibitions performed by the Studio Ulma from Brno.

You can look into the life of people in the past, learn the folk habits and traditions. You will get to know how our ancestors were travelling. It was Ignác Šustala, reeve's son, who began with the production of first traps and coaches right here and is rightly remembered among significant natives of Kopřivnice.
